We are geared to achieve underwriting excellence and are committed to excellent customer service. We are seeking a Renewal Underwriter to become a part of our dynamic and knowledgeable team.

The Role

  • Underwrite a commercial renewal book of business, varying in size
  • Apply effective pricing and coverage in accordance with company guidelines and underwriting authority limits
  • Ability to underwrite products and develop unique underwriting solutions
  • Ability to grow and maintain business relationships with broker partners
  • Assess and evaluate risk quality and implement risk management recommendations

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and meet deadlines
  • Professional and personable
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve company results
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education an asset
  • CIP designation or working towards is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Commercial Underwriter
